Community gardens, which greatly appeal to both private individuals and local authorities, have enjoyed a revival in recent decades. Indeed, they provide a response to today’s urban challenges: healthier eating, the creation of social links and sustainable development of towns and cities through partnerships and regional mapping. L'Institut Paris Region and its regional biodiversity agency (ARB), INRA and three specialised non-profit organisations provide a detailed overview of these gardens, their locations and functions.
